Guanzhuang town, in Wancheng district, and Stone Buddha Temple (Shifo si) town, in Zhenping, have been awarded the Good Example of Living Environment by the Ministry of Construction. Jingziguan town, in Xichuan county is named as a famous historical and cultural town by the National Ministry of Construction and State Cultural Relics Bureau. Towns with distinctive historical and cultural characteristics and a strong economy, which are approved by governments at all levels, have been named as "Zhongzhou's Famous Towns" by the provincial construction department.
