詳解“倒計(jì)時(shí)”

離北京2008年奧運(yùn)會還有不到一年的時(shí)間了，倒計(jì)時(shí)已經(jīng)開始！
那么，"北京2008年奧運(yùn)會倒計(jì)時(shí)一周年已經(jīng)開始”應(yīng)該用英語怎么說呢？有人翻譯為“The one-year countdown for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has begun.”，這句話“countdown”后的介詞用錯(cuò)了，不是“for”而是“to”。
“countdown”后面跟“to”表示離某事發(fā)生還有多少時(shí)間?！暗褂?jì)時(shí)”可表示“倒數(shù)秒數(shù)”，表示一個(gè)較短的時(shí)間，例如從10數(shù)到0，英語翻譯為“countdown”。例如： “The countdown to the launching of the satellite began.”（衛(wèi)星發(fā)射倒計(jì)時(shí)開始。）
“倒計(jì)時(shí)”還可表示“未來某件事發(fā)生的時(shí)刻往現(xiàn)在推算還有多少時(shí)間”，是一個(gè)較長的時(shí)間，英語也可以翻譯為“countdown”。例如： “On August 8, 2007, a grand gala was held on the Tian’anmen Square celebrating the one-year countdown to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.”（2007年8月8日在天安門廣場上舉行了慶祝北京2008年奧運(yùn)會倒計(jì)時(shí)一周年盛大活動。） “The countdown clock shows there are 365 days left until the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.”（倒計(jì)時(shí)鐘顯示離北京2008年奧運(yùn)會開幕還有365天。） “The countdown to the completion of the project has started.”（工程已經(jīng)進(jìn)入倒計(jì)時(shí)階段。）
“倒計(jì)時(shí)”還可作動詞用，英語翻譯為“to count down”，即“to record the time passing until an important event happens”。例如： “We are counting down our holidays to countdown.”（我們正在倒計(jì)時(shí)看離假期還有幾天。） “I want you to count sown from twenty to zero by twos.”（我要你從20倒數(shù)到0，每次減2。）
