They were taken to a safe house after the military junta released early Friday morning representatives of the ousted caretaker government and Democrat Party, who attended the army- called seven-party talks just before the coup on Thursday, the Nation quoted a military source as saying.

Three of the five representatives of the Pheu Thai party were also released, with the remaining two taken to the safe house along with the "red shirts" and protest leaders.

The military junta on Friday also issued an order to ban 155 prominent figures, including former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and former cabinet members, from leaving Thailand.

Both Yingluck and ousted caretaker prime minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan, reported to the military junta as summoned on Friday.
