The environmental protection authority in the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone is increasing supervision and management of pollution sources.

Since the enactment of the Environmental Protection Law in the beginning of 2015, the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone further enhanced oversight on local enterprises and management of pollution permits.

During the first quarter of 2015, the Zone issued 14 pollution licenses and ran a blanket inspection within the Zone. Four enterprises were issued warnings for excessive pollution discharges and given deadlines for rectification.
