Milestones of the Kunming High-tech Zone

---January 24, 2014: Two companies in the Kunming National High-tech Industries Development Zone (Kunming High-tech Zone), Yunnan Copper Science & Technology Development Co and Kunming Atide Software Co were listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ), marking a breakthrough for both the Kunming High-tech Zone and Yunnan province.

---November 4, 2013: A ceremony to mark the establishment of the Kunming Satellite Technology Application Center and a seminar were held at the Kunming High-tech Zone.

---October 18, 2013: The Yunnan Provincial Investment Service Center for Taiwan Businessmen was launched at the Kunming High-tech Zone.

---August 28, 2013: “Yunnan, China Gateway Project: Technology Coming to Yunan” – a work meeting as part of China’s efforts to build Yunan into an important gateway for China's opening up to Southwest Asia – was held at the Kunming High-tech Zone.

---July 7, 2013: The Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the Kunming High-tech Zone the honor of “Advanced Group in 20-Year Construction of the National High-tech Industries Development Zone”.

---June 6, 2013: The Kunming High-tech Zone held a launch meeting for building the zone into an innovative national development zone.

---May 23, 2013: The Kunming High-tech Zone was selected as one of the first batch of 34 national e-commerce demonstration bases.

---April 10, 2013: The Ministry of Science and Technology approved the Kunming High-tech Zone’s construction plans, giving the green light to the zone to start work on building an innovative development zone.

---March 23, 2013: The Kunming High-tech Zone became one of the third batch of industrial zones that were granted a “Demonstration Industrial Base for China’s New Road to Industrialization”.

---February 14, 2013: The Kunming High-tech Zone was honored as a model in land resources conservation.

---February 9, 2013: The Precious Metals Industries’ Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovations was founded at the Kunming High-tech Zone.

---March 14, 2012: A plaque-awarding ceremony was held at the Kunming High-tech Zone, and it became one of the first batch of demonstration zones in Yunnan province for innovation and entrepreneurships of high-end professionals.

---December 26, 2011, The Kunming Aquatic Science Park, the first of its kind in China, was founded at the Kunming High-tech Zone.

---December 20, 2011: Sino-Platinum Co, Ltd’s Key Laboratory of New Technology for Precious Metals’ Comprehensive Use won the Ministry of Science and Technology’s official approval to be one of China’s national key laboratories. It was the first enterprise with a national key laboratory in the Kunming High-Tech Zone.

---July 4-8, 2011: An economic delegation headed by Dong Baotong, director of the Administrative Committee for the Kunming High-tech Zone, attended the Singapore International Water Week 2011. The delegation also paid a visit to International Enterprise Singapore, exchanged views on a broad range of issues and signed a series of cooperation deals.
