The Kunming industrial development steering group delegation visited the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone on March 20 to investigate the Zone’s development of advanced equipment manufacturing industry.

The delegation visited Yunnan Tabacco Machinery Co, a leading tabacco machinery manufacturer in Yunnan province, Yunnan Wulong Automobile Co, a company known for its new energy vehicles, and Kunming Fengdong Technology Co, an advanced logistics system manager, within the Zone, and was briefed about companies’ innovation and production aspects.

Representatives from the three companies also voiced their daily operational challenges. For example, Yunnan Tabacco Machinery Co has problems in expanding business. The delegation suggested them to enhance communication with local department of industry and information technology to get updated on the latest preferential policies and receive support.

Gou Guangqing, the leader of the delegation, said after his visit that the level of equipment manufacturing industry determined industrialization level. He called on the enterprises and the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone to join efforts in order to enhance the development of the advanced equipment manufacturing industry and lend support to the restructuring of the industry in Kunming.
