The Kunming Hi-Tech Zone and Yunnan Construction Engineering Group signed a cooperative contract on Jan 14 on the construction of the Laos Saysettha Development Zone.

Zhao Xiaoping, deputy director of the administrative committee of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone, hosted the signing ceremony. Chen Quanji, deputy secretary of the Party working committee received the guests from YCEG, Yunnan Provincial Overseas Investment Co and chambers of commerce in Yunnan.

Chen said that the Zone had accumulated rich experience in the management of science parks, investment promotion, the commercialization of research findings and international scientific and technological cooperation. YCEG, expanding its market in Southeast Asia, has found many good cooperative opportunities in Laos. Therefore, he believed that cooperation between the Zone and YCEG would complement each other’s advantages, further expand overseas markets and bring mutual benefits.

The Laos Saysettha Development Zone, located in the Saysettha district and Xaythane district in Laos, was recognized by the Chinese government as a comprehensive overseas economic and trade cooperation project in July 2012.
