The Yunnan Copper Industry Group, founded in 1958, is one of the top three nonferrous metal companies in China.

The company runs resource exploration, mining, mineral smelting, and further processing of copper ore concentrates and other nonferrous metal ores. It produces high purity copper cathodes, copper drawing stock, industrial sulfuric acid, gold ingots, silver ingots, round copper wire, and cupric sulfate. In addition, the company recycles several nonferrous metals including gold, silver, aluminum, bismuth, tin, and palladium.

The company strictly obeys the quality assurance standards guided by ISO 9002 which was issued by the International Organization for Standardization. Its major product, Tiefeng higher purity copper cathode, was employed in the manufacture of the Shenzhou Ⅵ space capsule because of its high quality. The company has also been registered at Shanghai Metal Exchange and London Metal Exchange.
