The contractors of the Chinese-built EN1 road project in the republic of Mozambique in southern Africa recently received the final handover certificate issued by the owners, marking the official completion of the project.

Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co, a subsidiary of Beijing-based infrastructure construction group POWERCHINA, undertook the construction of the section of the project in the province of Sofala, with a length of 168 kilometers.

The project started construction on Sept 19, 2018 and entered its warranty period on Nov 19, 2019, three months earlier than the original schedule.

At the start of the year, in the face of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the project department put together detailed virus prevention plans and strictly followed outbreak prevention regulations.

It promoted the resumption of work and production while strictly observing epidemic prevention and control protocols, which improved the company's reputation in Mozambique.

The EN1 road runs through Mozambique's north and south, serving the country's cornerstone logistics and trade sectors and has very important economic and political significance.
