The 2015 China Northwest Financial Summit was held at Gansu International Convention Center in Lanzhou on Dec 5, Gansu Daily reported.

The summit was co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Party's Lanzhou Provincial Committee, Lanzhou's Agriculture Authority and Financial Authority, the Lanzhou Branch of The People's Bank of China, Lanzhou University of Finance, and Gansu Daily.

Participants discussed leading issues in the financial area including how to develop the financial industry in Gansu province and help impoverished regions eliminate poverty.

Zhang Chenghui, director of the Financial Institute of the Development Research Center of the State Council, gave a keynote speech at the summit.

In recent years, financial institutions in Gansu have achieved results by serving clients with different assets. They paid special attention to small and micro companies and the agricultural industry.

Financial institutions at all levels aim to promote the economic development of impoverished regions by innovating financial services to help finance happier lives for the people of Gansu.
