Grasstop is the leadership in a community or organization. This term is a play on grassroots, the ordinary people of a community or organization.
Grasstop指某個(gè)社區(qū)或組織的領(lǐng)袖，即“草根領(lǐng)袖”。Grasstop這個(gè)詞是在grassroots（草根）一詞基礎(chǔ)上演化而來(lái)，草根指社區(qū)或組織里的那些普通人。
Since at least 1912 the word "grassroots" has been used mostly in a political context, where it refers to the rank-and-file of the electorate, a political party, or some other political organization. If the grassroots form the base of the political pyramid, the grasstops form the apex, the small group that consists of the elite and powerful members of the body politic.
至少?gòu)?912年起，草根一詞就大量用于政治語(yǔ)境，用來(lái)指代普通選民、某個(gè)政黨或者某個(gè)政治組織。如果說(shuō)草根（grassroots）構(gòu)成政治金字塔的底座的話，那么草根領(lǐng)袖（grasstop）則是構(gòu)成塔尖的一份子，這一小部分人包括了政治圈里的精英和有權(quán)勢(shì)的成員。
