5.1-magnitude quake hits SW China's Yunnan

BEIJING -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted Qiaojia County in southwest China's Yunnan Province at 7:32 pm Monday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). No casualties have been reported.
The epicenter was monitored at 27.01 degrees north latitude and 103.41 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 km, the CENC said.
Residents in Qiaojia County reported strong tremors. Officials in Longtoushan Township of neighboring Ludian County said the quake was also strongly felt there, but no casualties have been reported. No houses collapsed, roads remain open, and street order is normal.
Authorities are further assessing the impact of the quake.
