Thailand and China officially established their diplomatic relations on Jul 1, 1975, with the signing of the joint communique in Beijing by Thai Prime Minister Kukrit Pramoj and Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai.

In 2012, both countries declared the establishment of comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Further deepening their ties, in 2022, both sides agreed to work toward the establishment of the Thailand-China community with a shared future for enhanced stability, prosperity and sustainability.
