MOSCOW -- Seven people were killed and 104 injured after a bridge explosion derailed a passenger train in Russia's Bryansk region on Saturday, Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed Monday.

The blast brought down a bridge onto a train carrying 388 passengers on Saturday night, and authorities have classified the incident as a "terrorist attack."

The derailment in the Bryansk region was caused by "illegal interference in transport activities," said Moscow Railway.

Local media reported that rail traffic has since been restored on the section where the incident occurred.

A similar bridge collapse early Sunday in the Kursk region also caused a derailment, injuring the driver and two crew members.
