Southwest China's Yunnan province is in celebratory mode this month with the arrival of the traditional Water-Splashing Festival, which is a new year celebration that is especially important to people from the Dai ethnic group.
The festival, which is said to radiate joy and cultural vibrancy, offers visitors the chance to splash in the water but also experience other cultural showcases, music festivals, marathons, and tea-themed events.
In places including Xishuangbanna, Lincang, and Pu'er, the celebration continues through late April and even into May.
