At the construction site of the 10-kilovolt Guhua Line Cangkujijian Transformation Substation in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company recently adopted its independently developed low-voltage substation grid-connected technology, enabling the seamless switch between the power grid and power vehicles, known as "one-click, smooth control".

In recent years, across various scenarios of power grid maintenance and construction, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company has explored different modes of medium and low-voltage power generation operations to ensure that users are not affected by power outages. However, during the connection and disconnection of power vehicles, manual operation of switching operations is still required, leading to momentary power outages. The one-click, smooth control is designed to address this issue by automating manual operations into program-controlled actions, making the process truly imperceptible to users.

Zhao Zhong, a manager at the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company, said the company independently developed a fast interface box, which is connected between the substation transformer and the comprehensive distribution box, facilitating the rapid connection of power vehicles to the substation. Simultaneously, in collaboration with manufacturers, they upgraded the internal equipment and control systems of the power vehicles to control the fast interface box internally, thereby achieving a one-click, smooth control.

"Compared to before, operators need only to press the grid connection or disconnection button, and the power vehicle can automatically carry out a series of operations such as synchronous adjustment and output power adjustment," Zhao said, adding that this process achieves zero-delay switching and imperceptibility to users.

As of mid-October this year, relying on this independent innovative method, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company has implemented low-voltage power generation operations 95 times, reducing power outages for 191.5 households. This has led to the formation of typical operational methods such as non-stop power generation plus medium and low-voltage joint power generation and integrated uninterrupted power supply vehicle plus low-voltage power generation. The widespread application of the one-click, smooth control technology is expected to help enhance power supply reliability while optimizing user experience.
