Jiaxing compiles the first carbon inclusion methodology for hydrogen energy power generation vehicles

On Oct 18, the "Carbon Inclusion Methodology for the Use of Hydrogen Energy Power Generation Vehicles in Jiaxing City" compiled by State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company took the lead and passed the expert review organized by Jiaxing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau. It became the first carbon inclusion methodology in the field of hydrogen energy power generation vehicles, marking a breakthrough for Jiaxing Electric Power in exploring new paths for ecological civilization construction.

Carbon inclusion refers to quantifying and recording the emission reduction behaviors of enterprises and the public and realizing their value through consumption channels such as transaction realization, policy support and shopping mall rewards. In 2023, to thoroughly implement the "dual carbon" goal of reaching the peak of carbon emissions by 2030 and attaining carbon neutrality by 2060. Jiaxing city took the construction of carbon inclusion trading pilot projects as the starting point, explored the establishment of an evaluation system with carbon inclusion emission reduction consumption as the core indicator, and guided and encouraged enterprises and institutions to independently compile and declare carbon inclusion methodologies, fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of the whole society to practice green and low-carbon emission reduction.

Under this background, the "Carbon Inclusion Methodology for the Use of Hydrogen Energy Power Generation Vehicles in Jiaxing City" came into being. It is understood that this methodology is based on the country's first "all-zero carbon" composite hydrogen energy storage emergency power supply vehicle developed by State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company. It applies to carbon inclusion behaviors of using hydrogen energy power generation vehicles to replace diesel power generation vehicles within Jiaxing city. It stipulates the accounting method for greenhouse gas emission reductions generated during the use of hydrogen energy power generation vehicles and has a promoting and incentivizing effect on promoting energy conservation and emission reduction citywide and supporting the development of the hydrogen energy industry. According to estimates, this emergency power supply vehicle can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 0.79 tons for a single power generation task. At present, hydrogen energy has become a new blue ocean in the field of new energy.

As one of the first batches of hydrogen energy industry pilots in Zhejiang province, Jiaxing city recently released the "Several Opinions on Further Promoting the High-Quality Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry", proposing that by 2027, the city's hydrogen energy manufacturing industry output value will reach 20 billion yuan. Through measures such as adding new hydrogen refueling stations and promoting the application of hydrogen energy vehicles, ships and other transportation tools, it will take multiple measures to promote the development of the hydrogen energy industry. Jiashan county in this city is also a provincial-level demonstration site for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and has taken the lead in forming an integrated demonstration of promoting the application of "hydrogen" vehicles with public sectors taking the lead and making breakthroughs in other fields in the province.

In recent years, State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company has actively promoted the application and promotion of hydrogen energy in the city, innovatively explored the "decarbonization" application of hydrogen energy on the power terminal side, successfully developed an "all-zero carbon" composite hydrogen energy storage emergency power supply vehicle, and played a stable role in green power protection in major events such as the Asian Games. Subsequently, the company will closely focus on the "dual carbon" goal, combine actual conditions to plan relevant work such as carbon inclusion certification and emission reduction trading, and fully support the city's green and low-carbon development.
