Globalization has brought some benefits over the last few decades, but now people don't see additional benefits from increasing trade or free trade agreement. Between times of crisis that we see now, the general population tends to weigh more on the potential disadvantages of globalization than the advantages. Free trade brings aggregate benefits to the country as a whole. But they also create the disparities within the country. This is, again, a momentum, especially in time of crisis, when people look even more so in the short term, not at the long term regarding the benefits of trade.
