Young people from Taiwan attending a forum on cross-Strait youth growth and entrepreneurship held in Bijie, Guizhou province, said the Chinese mainland has provided them vast career development opportunities.

The event is a sub-activity of Dajiang Forum, a platform to discuss the peaceful development of cross-Strait ties, organized by the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.

About one hundred youths from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered at the forum held over the weekend to exchange experiences and discuss topics such as youth entrepreneurship, rural revitalization, and cross-Strait leisure tourism and agricultural cooperation.

Su Yi-fang, general manager of Shitouji jewelry Co, who has been working on the mainland for about 20 years, said he witnessed the convenient entrepreneurial and employment environment created by local governments through various preferential policies for Taiwan youth.

Fan-Chiang Feng, manager of the Qida Straits Youths Entrepreneurial and Incubation Center in Xiamen, Fujian province, said he and his mainland partner spent 14 years to build the large-scale base for Taiwan youth entrepreneurship.

He said he was born and raised in Taiwan, and had heard many stories about the other side of the strait from Taiwan businessmen who found their opportunities in mainland's reform and opening-up when they returned to Taiwan.

"However, as I set foot on this land myself and experienced the great opportunities it affords, I'm grateful that I was born at the right time. Various policies are constantly creating favorable conditions for the development of entrepreneurial youth like us," he said.

Several other cross-Strait guests delivered speeches on the development cross-Strait youth entrepreneurship and complementarity between youth on both side.

On Sunday morning, an industrial development promotion meeting was held, allowing attending Taiwan businessmen to seek opportunities for industrial collaboration in Bijie.

The TDSL, founded on Nov 12, 1947, now has about 3,400 members and is one of the eight non-communist parties that participate in state affairs under the leadership of the CPC.

Since 2005, the TDSL has actively responded to the call of the CPC Central Committee by helping the development of Hezhang county, contributing to the construction of the Bijie, with other non-CPC political parties.
