Grace Chen’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, Dreams of Red Mansions, which closed the 11th Shanghai Haute Couture Week Sunday at Fuxing Art Center, bent time and space.
The runway was dim, rain pattering, and thunder rumbling. Holding a red oil paper umbrella, a young male model clad in white, read a poem melancholily. Seeing a young woman in a flowing dark green dress walk towards him, the man called her affectionately but the woman ignored him and walked away. Dashing to chase her, the man left the red umbrella behind on the stage.
