Foreign students should not be treated as the privileged few, to be paired with native women helping them in their daily chores! They must fend for themselves and be independent. Don't use native women as a crutch! Let the foreigners find their own way around. When we arrived in China, we never had the benefit of pairing up with natives. We had to fend for ourselves, and we still made it in China!
