TEHRAN -- Iran on Tuesday denied that it has demanded for sale of 1.5 million barrels of oil per day as a condition to honor 2015 international nuclear deal.

On Monday, western media reported that Iran insists on exporting at least 1.5 million bpd of oil as a condition for staying in the international nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Moussavi on Tuesday said in statement that such news was "fabricated."

The US government has tightened sanctions on Iran's oil exports, blocking Iranian oil buyers from importing any oil from the Islamic republic by ending the waivers for sanctions that expired in early May.

In reaction, Iran in last week withdrew from implementing parts of its commitments under the landmark 2015 nuclear deal.
