Merkel announces bid for fourth term as German chancellor

BERLIN -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced her bid for the fourth term, local media reported on Sunday.
She made the announcement in a presidium meeting of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) led by her. She has also announced the bid for CDU's presidency.
