Not so traditional mooncakes

This week in China we are preparing to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. It's tradition at this time of year to exchange and eat mooncakes. Mooncakes are a pastry filled with meat, egg and bean or fruit paste. You can tell by looking at this year's cakes that sticking to tradition is very important.

Man on the moon?

The real moon got some attention in America this week when NASA released its most detailed photographs of the moon to date. The new pictures show the moon's landscape and tracks from several landing sites from the 1960s and 70s. But if you look even closer, you may be able to see something a bit more interesting.

Sticky situation in clinics

Sperm donation clinics in the United States are seeing an increasing number of male donors. The New York Times reported this week on documentation which revealed one man has fathered at least 150 children. We sent The Week correspondent Clark Cahill to the US to explore the world of sperm donation, and he's in the studio with us to tell us about his experience.

Intense "sex drive"

While some people go to sperm donation clinics looking for a way to have a child, one couple in China went somewhere a bit more unusual. They drove to the top of a four-story parking garage to "get busy". But things got out of hand and the couple wound up hanging on for their lives as the car almost fell 60 meters to the ground.

This wacky world

This dog set the world record for having the biggest ears of any living canine. I wonder if he can fly with those babies.

Firefighters in Sweden had to rescue a moose after it got drunk from eating fermented apples and fell into the branches of a tree. According to MSNBC, drunken moose are rather common in Sweden.

A man in America tried to rob a convenience store dressed as the cartoon character Gumby. The store clerk thought it was a joke, and the thief left the store empty handed.

The world's fattest woman announced she wants to lose weight. So she probably shouldn't go to this American university which welcomed new students with the world's largest stir fry.
