Man sues actress for staring at him

A lawsuit filed in the People's Court of Shanghai Pudong New District has not only raised judges' eyebrows but also made a splash online.

In the complaint, a man has sued a Chinese actress Zhao Wei for staring at him with her big eyes through the TV screen, Legal Daily reported. He claimed that she has caused him spiritual damage by staring at him.

After the news was picked up by China's biggest micro-blogging platform Sina Weibo, Internet users mocked the absurdity of the case.

"Is the guy insane? What's the wrong if an actress has big eyes?" one Weibo user questioned.

"This kind of weird lawsuit should be condemned; it is a waste of time for court," another commented.

Zhao Wei, a well-known Chinese actress and director, who has played leading roles in many movies and TV plays, recently left her handprints in Hollywood.
