Xi vows to fight corruption?

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), vowed to unswervingly fight against corruption Tuesday, xinhuanet.com reported. Xi made the vow during a speech at a plenary meeting of the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, were present at the meeting. Wang Qishan, secretary of the CCDI and also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, presided over Tuesday's meeting.

Xi ordered enhanced restraint and supervision on the use of power. He said, "Power should be restricted by a cage of regulations." A disciplinary, prevention and guarantee mechanism should be set up to ensure that people do not dare to, are not able to and can not easily commit corruption, Xi said.

習(xí)近平指出，要加強(qiáng)對(duì)權(quán)力運(yùn)行的制約和監(jiān)督，把權(quán)力關(guān)進(jìn)制度的籠子里，形成不敢腐的懲戒機(jī)制、不能腐的防范機(jī)制、不易腐的保障機(jī)制。

[反腐要'老虎''蒼蠅'一起打]

Xi said the Party should crack down on "tigers" and "flies" at the same time by dealing with illegal activities of officials on the one hand and tackling malpractices and corruption cases, which closely impact the people, on the other.

習(xí)近平說，從嚴(yán)治黨，要堅(jiān)持“老虎”、“蒼蠅”一起打，既堅(jiān)決查處領(lǐng)導(dǎo)干部違紀(jì)違法案件，又切實(shí)解決發(fā)生在群眾身邊的不正之風(fēng)和腐敗問題。

[不允許'上有政策下有對(duì)策']

Efforts should be made to prevent and overcome selfish localism and departmentalism, and nobody or no department should be allowed to disregard policies introduced by the Central Committee, Xi said. He said the Party will never tolerate any compromise made by officials or departments in carrying out decisions of the Central Committee.

習(xí)近平說，要防止和克服地方和部門保護(hù)主義、本位主義，決不允許"上有政策、下有對(duì)策"，決不允許有令不行、有禁不止，決不允許在貫徹執(zhí)行中央決策部署上打折扣、做選擇、搞變通。
