Uproar hit the World Snooker China Open snooker match in Beijing as a fan was ejected from the arena after ignoring warnings from the referee about taking photos of the players in action.

Camera users at the quarterfinal between Mark Selby and Ricky Walden on Thursday night were repeatedly admonished by the referee Zhu Ying, who ran out of patience at the second interval with a disobedient spectator and asked him to be sent away.

The referee then silenced the crowd into submission during the rest of the match by warning that she would do the same with anyone flashing a camera.

Snooker spectator manners remain much to be desired since the annual tournament was first held in 2005. Loud talking, walking around, using a camera and flash are forbidden during snooker matches, which demand the full attention of players.
