Some Formula One statistics for Sunday's Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix:

RACE WINS

Fernando Alonso's victory in Malaysia was the 16th of his career, lifting him alongside Briton Stirling Moss in the all-time list of race-winners.

Only 11 drivers have won more, with now-retired seven times champion Michael Schumacher holding the record of 91 victories.

The victory was also McLaren's first since October 2005, when Kimi Raikkonen triumphed in Japan, and first one-two since Brazil in September 2005 when Colombian Juan-Pablo Montoya led Raikkonen home.

If McLaren win again in Bahrain, it will be the team's 150th grand prix victory since Bruce McLaren's first in Belgium in 1968.

Ferrari have now won 193 races and Williams 113. Renault have won 33. Two teams, Super Aguri and Spyker, have yet to score points in Formula One.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Alonso leads Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen by two points after two races.

McLaren last led the drivers' championship in 2003, when Briton David Coulthard won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

The last driver to win the championship for McLaren was Finland's Mika Hakkinen in 1999.

HAMILTON

Briton Lewis Hamilton's second place for McLaren in Malaysia made him the first Formula One driver since compatriot Peter Arundell in 1964 to finish his first two races on the podium.

No driver has ever finished in the top three in his first three races.

The 22-year-old was already the first rookie since Canadian Jacques Villeneuve in 1996 to stand on the podium after his first grand prix.

The last driver to win a race in his debut season was Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya with Williams in Italy in 2001.

PODIUMS

Alonso is chasing his sixth successive podium finish. Michael Schumacher holds the record of 19 in a row (2001-2002) while Alonso had 15 in a row in 2005-2006.

Renault's Italian Giancarlo Fisichella has finished the last seven races in the points.

BAHRAIN

In three races in Bahrain, Ferrari won the first and Renault the last two.

McLaren have yet to finish higher than third (Raikkonen in 2005 and 2006).

Ferrari took pole position with Schumacher in 2004 and 2006, Renault with Alonso in 2005. There has been a Ferrari on the front row in all three races, with the Italian team qualifying first and second in 2004 and 2006.

MILESTONE

Alonso should become only the 10th Formula One driver to score more than 400 points. He currently stands on 399. Schumacher holds the record of 1,369.
