At the shooting range Jaspal Rana landed India's first shooting gold with victory in the 25m standard pistol.
Despite enduring a sleepless night with high fever, the 30-year-old finished top with 574 points from a maximum 600 at the remote gun club in the middle of the Qatari desert.
"I've been sick with fever for three days, I feel so tired, and dizzy today, so I'm happy with the score," Rana told reporters.
China continued to impress, winning golds in the 50m rifle three positions team and individual finals, taking their tally to 26 of the 36 shooting golds already decided.
China's marksmen top the shooting medals table ahead of Kazakhstan and South Korea.
Wang Hao and Guo Yue struck a blow for youth in China's almost all-conquering table tennis team by claiming the men and women's singles crowns.
Wang took just 35 minutes to beat Ma Lin -- the elder statesman of the China team in Doha -- and claim his second gold of the Games, while swashbuckling teenager Guo won her third title with a victory over Hong Kong's Tie Ya Na.
