All's not lost, says film on climate change

Hope in a Changing Climate, a documentary by the Environmental Education Media Project (EEMP), premieres in Beijing today, to coincide with its global broadcast on BBC World. EEMP is an organization dedicated to placing ecosystem restoration at the center of global discussions on climate change, poverty, and sustainable agriculture.
Part of a local environmental campaign, Greening the Beige, the 30-minute documentary was shot in Shaanxi province of China, Ethiopia and Rwanda in September and October, and features a diverse collection of interviews - from world leaders to ordinary people - that shows how large-scale ecosystem restoration can stabilize the changing climate, catalyze sustainable agriculture, and significantly reduce poverty.
"It is our responsibility, as citizens, to show the world how this has been and can be done," says Jonathan J. Halperin, executive director of EEMP. " We will continue to research, collaborate, and communicate as effectively as possible to help people understand the immense opportunity we have today to repair our world."
Hope in a Changing Climate will be presented at the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15) from Dec 7 to 18, and about 50 organizations from across the world will host facilitated discussions and screenings of the film.
