As integral parts of the 2022 Smart China Expo, the China Manufacturing Design Conference and Yuelai International Design Forum?were unveiled on July 28 in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.

Xu Kemin, chief economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, addressed the meeting, highlighting the manufacturing sector as the foundation of China's prosperity and stressing the need to push forward with design and technological innovation in the manufacturing area. Xu pledged that the ministry will seek to form a sound industrial ecosystem for the development and digital upgrading of manufacturing design.

Zhang Hongxing, secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, also delivered a keynote speech at the event, hailing Chongqing as one of China's modern manufacturing bases with wide industrial design application scenarios and broad market prospects. Liangjiang is currently deploying its industrial design sector and is on its way to becoming an internationally influential industrial design hub.

At the opening ceremony, a group of State-level industrial design centers, world green design parks and auto design capitals were unveiled, agreements for several business cooperation project agreements were signed, and the global design industrial park was launched.

In the following sub-forums and activities, industrial designs from China, Italy, Singapore and other countries were discussed.

The 2022 China Industrial Design Innovative Achievement Exhibition is being held from July to September in the Yuelai International Exhibition City, with a total display area of 5,000 square meters and 66 corporate participants involved in electronic equipment, AI, aerospace, equipment manufacturing, internet, automobiles and medical facilities.
