Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile Co – a subsidiary of Chongqing Sokon Industrial Group Co – is located in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, and specializes in the manufacturing and research of power cells, engines and electric control equipment for new energy vehicles (NEVs). Following an innovation-driven strategy, the company strives to promote the high-end, intelligent and green transformation of Chongqing-made automobiles.
In the company's workshop, key processing procedures are 100-percent automated, with more than 1,000 robots working together. The intelligent and automatic production line saves on human labor and increases product reliability.
According to Duan Wei, vice CEO of Sokon Industrial Group and general manager of Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile, the company has established three manufacturing bases in Chongqing, with two already in operation. In addition, the research team often holds video conferences at 8 am and 10 pm in order to keep in contact with their counterparts in the western hemisphere.
Sokon has set up its research team in the Silicon Valley since 2015, which was designed to boost innovation through the cross-regional prospects and product development concepts. The?combined research from Chinese and American teams has largely shortened products' lead time.
AITO M5 – a brand-new NEV launched by Sokon last December – are installed with the Huawei HarmonyOS smart cockpit for the first time, enabling the car to connect with owners, mobile phones, and other smart devices.
Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile currently has over 1,000 patent applications, with nearly 500 authorized, and about 100 of which are invention patents.
