Automobile manufacturer SERES launched its high-end intelligent auto brand – AITO – on Dec 2 at the Liangjiang Smart Factory.

Avatr – Changan's high-end auto brand – was launched half a month ago.

"Vehicles made in Chongqing are moving toward high-end consumption," said an official of the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, with enterprises, including Changan, Sokon, Great Wall, and Lincoln, beginning to lay out high-end products.

The newly launched AITO and Avatr share some common traits – a handsome design, first-class craftsmanship, and an optimized user experience.

The proportion of vehicles worth above 100,000 yuan ($15,760) has surged from 30 percent in 2017 to more than 40 percent of the total today.

Against the backdrop of the double carbon goals, new energy vehicles (NEVs) have become increasingly popular. During the first half of this year, Chongqing's NEV sales had already reached the whole-year sales level of 2020.
