An intelligent pharmaceutical preparations outsourcing plant was established on May 25 at Shuitu New City in the Liangjiang New Area – located in Southwest China's Chongqing – at a launch ceremony attended by local officials and representatives from the facility's owner and operator, Porton Pharma Solutions Ltd.

The company has reportedly been focusing on medicine research and production outsourcing services for 16 years and it now has a wide range of international partners.

According to company president Ju Nianfeng, the firm is currently working with 16 out of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical groups and has to date served more than 500 international clients.

Li Shun, member of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee and vice-director of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, said the new facility would be a boon for the area.

He said the Liangjiang New Area would prioritize the development of technological innovation, in order to make Chongqing the gateway for the further opening up of the region and also to make it a city renowned for its intelligent economy.

He also stressed that the smart preparations outsourcing service plant would bring vitality to the bio-medicine sector in the new area. It would be a signal that the industry was on the right path to high-quality development.

The Liangjiang administration plans to reinforce its existing combination of new platforms and business models. It also plans to promote the integration of supply chains, research, production and support facilities for the outsourcing plant and will also aim to help the company in its goal to become a major international player in the field of bio-medicine.

It is expected that the plant will further expand the scale of bio-medicine industry in Liangjiang, attracting more companies to establish operations there.
