Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing was the center of attention at the Chongqing International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, which took place from Nov 10 to 11.

According to an exhibition manager, the Liangjiang booth received visits from over 300 high-end talents from home and abroad, including two academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

They were highly interested in the area's living environment, industry clusters, development strategy and supportive policies. Over the past few years, the administrative committee of Liangjiang New Area has combined talent policy with investment promotion while focusing on smart manufacturing, technological innovation and the financial industry.

Each year, the local government spends 100 million yuan ($14.37 million) in developing talent, 1 billion yuan in innovation and 22 billion yuan in emerging industries. There are also seven specialized foundations for the incubation of startups.

In the Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Park, one-stop stations are available for new arrivals to get all kinds of services.
