The first ever Jiangbeizui Financial Forum was held in Chongqing on Nov 18, discussing the blueprint of Chongqing financial industry for the next five years.

Attracting 300 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and financial elites, the forum focused on China's new economic trend in new era and opportunities and challenges faced by Chongqing's financial development.

Stimulating financial topics were discussed, including building Chongqing an important functional financial center across the country, how to establish a financing and investment highland, and financial supervision and reform.

Wang Yuanhong, a senior official of the National Development and Reform Commission, analyzed the financial situation and new trends of China's economy in the new era.

Sheng Xitai, founder of Aplus Fund and president of Aplus Capital Holding Co, suggested that Chongqing should start by improving the concentration of financial institutions, raising the capital activity, and establishing a financial support system.Also, the city should make good use of its policy dividends and be actively involved in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiatives and China-Singapore strategy to win more policy supports for the financial sector.

The Jiangbeizui Financial Forum is projected to be held annually with the aims to become an influential worldwide financial brand event and to support Chongqing's construction of a domestic financial center.
