Chongqing-based Jiuan Motor Company plans to build the largest comprehensive auto market in the Southwest of China to provide new and second hand car services, according to liangjiang.gov.cn on July 11.

Located at a used-car exchange market in the Yubei District of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, the project will cover an area of 15,000 square meters. New car and used car sales, auto financing and maintenance will all be available at the market.

Jiuan Motor has adopted some creative measures aimed at boosting used-car sales, such as month-long test drives on used cars with only a small deposit paid beforehand. There will also be an online trading platform whereby car-owners will be able to trade their car for another of a similar price value.

The used car market is growing fast in Liangjiang New Area, with some 67,000 sold in the first quarter of this year alone. The boost in sales serves as an engine of the auto industry in the city according to Chongqing Commercial Committee. The comprehensive auto market is expected to reinvigorate Chongqing's auto-consumption.
