Grand Science & Technology Company, a high-tech company in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, has launched an integrated dust monitoring cloud computing platform, the first quantity control and data analysis platform for dust in China.

There are over 3000 construction sites and 800 roads suffeing from dust problems in Chongqing Older technology cannot meet the needs of dust control.

Thanks to the internet of things, big data, cloud computing and mobile internet, the platform not only enables real-time monitoring of air particle data, such as PM 2.5 and PM 10, it is also possible to trace the origin of the pollution substances.

"With the data collected from the site and through video cameras, the dust can be identified and processed in real time," said Pu Yong, general manager of Grand Science & Technology Company.

The data from the cloud computing platform has been successfully connected to the environmental protection internet of things system. It is also the first data connected to a provincial level environmental protection platform.

As an integrated cloud computing system, the platform is different from other dust control system because it can identify the kinds of the pollutants and where they come from.

The sensors and video monitoring system can monitor pollutants 24 hours a day, and when data exceed the upper limits, it notifies the environmental bureau.

So far, the technology has been used in construction sites in Yubei, Beipei and Bishan districts. It has been adopted in large scale in other regions including Shandong, Anhui, Shanxi and Gansu provinces, with positive economic and social effects.
