Guoyuan port expects double-digit cargo growth for 2015

As a hub port connecting the golden waterways of the Yangtze River and Silk Road Economic Belt, Chongqing's Guoyuan port has welcomed its new stage of development.?Guoyuan port's bulk cargo amount expects to see double-digit growth in 2015, according to the Guoyuan Port Bulk Cargo Enterprise on Feb 4.
According to Li Xiangyuan, business department director of the Guoyuan Port Bulk Cargo Enterprise, a new railway will be put into operation in 2015, adding an additional connection to the port.
"In 2015, Sichuan Tranvic Group will be able to deliver their goods directly from Guoyuan port to its factory by railway," said Li.
According to the official statistics, the amount of chrome ore shipped through Guoyuan port to its connecting railway transportation system has occupied 70 percent of western China's market at a total of 400,000 tons.
"Guoyuan port is undergoing a big change," said Liu Xiaobo, director of the finance department of the Guoyuan Port Bulk Cargo Enterprise.
