Chongqing hosts railways and ports investigation meeting

On October 16, Chongqing hosted a railways and ports investigation meeting, which Mayor Huang Qifan; Huang Shengqiang, director of the National Port Office attended.
During the meeting, a spokesman from the port office of Chongqing Municipal Government briefed attendees on the construction and operational details of Chongqing's railways and ports. Officials from Chongqing customs, and inspection and quarantine bureau outlined customs clearance and quarantine inspection work.
Huang Qifan said that the launching of the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway echoed the development of inland trades and opened a new transport and logistics route between Asia and Europe. Recently, the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway has been granted a number of support policies. In the next few years, Chongqing will give full play to these policies and play a greater role in promoting the development of China-EU trade cooperation.
Huang Shengqiang said that the inland port opening is an important symbol of the inland opening up, as is the launch of the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway. The opening-up of inland ports will effectively promote the development of related industrial clusters, and promote local economic development. He wished that Chongqing could explore a step further on inland customs clearance, port construction standards, and port institutional settings, and make new contributions to the opening-up of inland ports.
Vice-mayor Liu Qiang chaired the meeting.
On October 15, Huang Shengqiang and other officials paid visits to Chongqing railway ports, China Railway Engineering Cooperation intermodal Chongqing central station, Chongqing automobile import port, the port inspection building, and Xiyong Comprehensive bonded zone.
