Northern Light Venture Capital CEO Summit kicks off in E-Town
The 2016 Northern Light Venture Capital CEO Summit was held in Beijing Economic Development Area on December 2.
Hosted by Northern Light Venture Capital, the deputy director of Beijing Economic Development Area management committee Sheng Licheng, and representatives from Silicon Valley Bank and ThunderSoft gave speeches.
E-Town Capital, Northern Light Venture Capital and more than 100 enterprises attended to discuss enterprises' development, management and cooperation.
Sheng Licheng outlined the industrial environment and support, development and establishment and of Beijing Economic Development Area, sharing ideas of entrepreneurship and investment.
Established in 1992, there are more than 16,000 enterprises located within Beijing Economic Development Area. The district has formed and maintains business involved in electronic information, bio-pharmaceuticals, equipment and automobile manufacturing, as well as high-end services, cultural innovation, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Beijing Economic Development Area will provide powerful support in venture capital enterprises. In the field of electronic information, Beijing Economic Development Area formed integrated circuit industrial clusters focusing on SMIC, and new display industrial groups focusing on BOE and cloud computing. It has formed a unique bio-pharmaceutical industrial cluster represented by Bayer, Sanofi, Tongrentang Chinese Medicine, Staidson, GE, Youcare, and Leadman. It administers a manufacturing cluster through Beijing Benz and BAIC BJEV, and provides strong contributions to e-commerce through focuson JD.com, Huimaizaixian and Jiuxian.
In addition, it can support industrial space, high-end talent and industrial investment and technological innovation funds.
Northern Light Venture Capital is a well-known venture capital enterprise and an important partner of E-Town Capital Fund of Funds. Established in 2005, it now manages four dollar funds and four RMB funds, grossing more than 30 billion RMB capital. With a strong focus on TMT, advanced technology and medical healthcare, it has invested in several enterprises located in Beijing Economic Development Area such as Annoroad, Shineon, Timesled and GKNT Medical Technology Co., Ltd.

E-Town Capital Fund of Funds (FoFs)
E-Town Capital established an emerging industry fund in 2013, which has come to be known as a "fund of funds",supporting strategic emerging industries in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (E-town). 2015 saw a total of 274.8 billion RMB ($42.17 billion) in funds, of which 32.7 billion RMB were invested in over 130 projects.
E-Town Capital took first prize as a Chinese government fund, ranked seventh in the top 10 "Most Influential Chinese Funds of Funds", eighth among the top 10 "Most Active Chinese Funds of Funds" and ranked seventh among the top 20 "Marketable Chinese Fund of Funds".
E-Town Capital Fund of Funds has established Angel Fund, VC Fund and PE Fund, whilst continuing to buyout funds to combine the sectors of industry and finance and provide guarantees to industries in Beijing Economic Development Area.
