On October 10th, 2016, the Second News Release of WRC2016 was held in the News Release Hall of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) Management Committee. The news release announced the latest progress of WRC 2016 preparation. Mr. Sui Zhenjiang, Vice Mayor of Beijing; Mr. Song Jun, Member of CAST Party Committee Organization Department & Director of CAST Academic Department, Director of CAST Corporate Work Office; Mr. Qu Guochun, Deputy Director of MIIT Equipment Dept; Ms. Xu Xiaolan, Secretary General of WRC2016, Vice Chairman & Secretary General of the Chinese Institute of Electronics; Mr Zhang Boxu, Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology; Mr. Liang Sheng, Director of the BDA (Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area) attended the meeting . The news release was chaired by Mr. Liu Yinchun, Deputy Secretary General of Beijing Municipal People's Government.
It is know that the WRC 2016 is themed by "Joint Innovation, Sharing and Win-Win, Starting Intelligent Times", sponsored by Beijing Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and undertaken by China Institute of Electronics (CIE), Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, BDA Management Committee. The WRC 2016 will be held at Beijing Yichuang International Conference and Exhibition Center from October 21th to October 25th, 2016. Mr. Sui Zhenjiang, Vice Mayor of Beijing; Mr. Song Jun, Member of CAST Party Committee Organization Department & Director of CAST Academic Department, Director of CAST Corporate Work Office; and Mr. Qu Guochun, Deputy Director of MIIT Equipment Department made speeches respectively. Ms. Xu Xiaolan, Secretary General of WRC2016, Vice Chairman & Secretary General of the Chinese Institute of Electronics introduced the highlights and overall preparation of the Conference.
World's Top Scale Impact, Highlighting International Collision
WRC 2016 featured by internationalisation, further expansion of scale and influence. It includes 3-day Main Forum, 22 Theme Forums, with 13 international supporting organizations, and more than 300 top experts from over 11 countries, gathering 150 world famous enterprises. The concurrent WRCC 2016 consists of 6 robot competition events, attracting more than 2,000 players in over 500 teams from more than 10 countries. During the conference, Bots sharing development platform and robotic society standards etc. will be released. As introduced by Ms. Xu Xiaolan, the WRC 2016 includes three parts: Main Forum & Theme Forums, 2016 World Robot Exhibition (WRE 2016) and 2016 World Robot Contest (WRCC 2016). In such a combination, the WRC 2016 is dubbed "Davos" of robotics, "Hanover Exhibition" of China, and "Olympics" of robotics. World class experts and scholars, first class corporate exhibits, first class robot competitions will be on show in Beijing, and a fest of robotics will be in performance. It is known that the WRC 2016 is supported by IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (IEEE RAS), International Foundation of Robotics Research (IFRR), International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM), American Robotic Industries Association (RIA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Russian Association of Robotics (RAR), Russian Association of Industrial Internet (RAII), Deutschen Gesellschaft für Robotik (DGR), Associazione Italiana di Robotica e Automazione (SIRI), Israeli Robotics Association (IROB), Korea Association of Robot Industry (KAR), Korea Robotics Society (KROS), Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) among other 13 international organizations.
