2018 Circum-Central Plains Open Cycling Championships (Sanmenxia Stop), or the 2018 China (Sanmenxia) Yellow River Park Road Cycling Race, will commence in the city of Sanmenxia, Henan province on Sep 28.

Honored as Pearl of the Yellow River, Sanmenxia lies in the westernmost part of Henan province, and sits on the south bank of the Yellow River, with three sides exposed to the river, enjoying an advantageous geographical location. The city has certain advantages and good tourism prospects, with many places of interest, a vibrant culture, and lovely scenery. From early winter to early spring, Sanmenxia greets hundreds of thousands of white swans from Siberia who come to the city to spend their winters, which in turn attracts tourists from all over the world.

As the birthplace of Chinese civilization, Sanmenxia enjoys many honorable names: China's Top 200 Special Charming Cities, National Garden and Forest cities, China's Best Tourist City, and China's Best Eco-tourism City. The Yellow River Park, venue of the competition, has a circular racing track with complicated topography, multiple turnings and steep slopes, which is different from other circular racing tracks, and the race will surely be filled with adventure and excitement.

Founded by Henan Cycling Modern Pentathlon Administration Center and Henan Cycling Association in 2015, the race has developed rapidly after three years of hard work, and it has received national honors numerous times.
