Jiangsu launched a new online platform for voluntary services last December, providing a structured framework for volunteering across the province, Wm.jschina.com.cn reported.

The platform serves several basic functions including recruitment, training, projects, service records and volunteer rating.

Dong Anjun, a volunteer from Yancheng said that the new platform fits targets current mass reading habits by integrating a traditional website with a mobile app and WeChat. He said people are able to sign up to volunteering activities via the platform as well as meet likeminded individuals.

Zhu Dingping, leader of a volunteer service team in Nanjing, said that the platform makes it easier for him to manage his projects and team, and said that it would certainly help attract more volunteers.
