Wanda Group held a grand opening ceremony for its 100th Wanda Plaza in Kunming city, southwest China’s Yunnan province, on Oct 31.

"This is a historic moment. Beside the scale of the enterprise, it also means that Wanda Plaza is a brand of global influence" said Wang Jianlin, Chairman of Wanda Group, China’s biggest commercial land developer. Wanda Plaza, dubbed as the "Center of the City", will be the growth engine for the city’s service industry.

As one of its most representative plazas, this new Wanda Plaza will offer 710,000 square meters as a business center, luxury five-star hotel, Grade-A office building and apartments, among which two 310 meters Grade-A office buildings ("Kunming Twin Towers") are viewed as China’s iconic building, and Kunming’s first outdoor laser music fountain will become a "calling card" for the city.

To celebrate the opening of its 100th Wanda Plaza and as a thank you for its customers，Wanda Group will launch a thousand promotional campaigns in its 100 Wanda Plazas across China from Oct 31 to Nov 2.

Special offers will be made in its department stores, cinemas, Superstar Karaoke and Kidsland. Meanwhile, major brands will also provide discounts, gifts, and styled products for the celebration activities. These events, attracting over 50 million customers, will be the largest commercial activity nationwide.

Wanda Group will also launch a "100 Dreams" activity and publish themed stamps for celebration events, and it will be China Post’s first themed stamp for an enterprise.

Wanda Group began to develop commercial property in 2000. It has been evolving from a single store to a multi-store center, and finally developing into a comprehensive shopping center.

By the end of 2014, a total of 109 Wanda Plazas will have been opened and Wanda Group will become the world’s second largest commercial property enterprise. In the first half of 2015, it will be the largest developer in the world.

The group has initiated an "order pattern" of commercial property and created a complete industrial chain, including planning and design, project construction and operation and management, which helps it to attract the leading partners across China.

Thanks to its mature business model and implementation of decisions, Wanda has witnessed rapid growth in recent years. It opens at least 20 Wanda Plazas every year, which is considered a legend of rapid growth in the property market.
