During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15) period, Shenzhen, a special economic zone established in 1980 in China, began its second 30-year development plan. Shenzhen Bay Technology and Ecology Park is situated at the South Zone of Shenzhen High-Tech Industrial Park (SHIP) with convenient transportation and rich global resources. The park covers an area of 203,000 square meters and has 1.88 million sq m of building area. It is designed to serve as a headquarter and R&D base for high-tech listed companies, a development platform for strategic emerging industries, an incubator for innovative small and mid-sized enterprises, a national low carbon ecology demonstration park, and a service center for the SHIP’s South Zone. It will become a global high-tech industrial development platform and lead the industrial upgrade of Shenzhen’s high-tech industry.
