The Zhongguancun Listed Company Association was established in Beijing on Aug 16, with association members including 66 domestic- and overseas-listed companies in Zhongguancun Science Park. Yin Weidong, president of Sinovac Biotech, presides over the association.

The association's role is to analyze the listed companies' growth data to provide better service for its members, investors and capital markets. It also drafts business policies for governments and relevant departments. In addition, the association helps promote mutual cooperation and development among its member companies.

"The establishment of the Zhongguancun Listed Company Association marks a new stage for Zhongguancun's increasing development in capital markets. We hope the association can drive the reform and listing of more enterprises and create a bigger and stronger Zhongguancun," said Fu Hua, vice secretary-general of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC.

Fu noted that the association should also encourage more company founders to become angel investors, cultivate new science park culture and stimulate innovation.
