Chapter 10 Local Trademark Progress

Shanxi AIC successfully held the 3rd Shanxi Trademark Festival and a forum on rural economic development. Through a series of activities carried out by the AICs at all levels in Shanxi, such as workshops, awarding conferences, special programs on TV and trademarks show, fully demonstrating the province’s achievements in implementing trademark strategy.

Jiangsu AIC carried out the identification and management of the industrial cluster headed by trademark, introducing various measures to establish the regional image with the trademark as the lead, so as to improve the overall competitiveness of a group of enterprises. As a result, these businesses had a stronger capacity in respond to financial crisis. Jiangsu AIC had a pilot program first in Wuxi, then summarized the feedbacks from the different resources and then conducted an in-depth research. Based on this, the plan for determining and managing trademark-headed industrial clusters was promulgated, which entailed the determination and management for the industrial cluster legally grounded.

June 10th, Trademark Entering Countryside Exhibition Tour was inaugurated in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

2. Protecting exclusive rights of trademark holders to create a favorable circumstance for economic development.

In the year of 2009, AICs at all levels gave full play of their responsibility, further escalating and regulating the supervision and service level in trademark, strengthening the protection for the exclusive rights of trademark holders. By improving coordination mechanism in trademark enforcement, proactively advancing regional coordination in terms of trademark enforcement in the jurisdiction, they protected trademark owners and consumers’ legitimate rights and interests and created favorable circumstance for IPR protection.

Liaoning, Jilin, Henan and the other places had formulated their local provisions in cultivation, recommendation of well-known trademarks, and July 2nd, Jiangxi Province held the famous trademark reorganization working conference. Determination and protection of famous trademarks, providing a strong guarantee to trademark holders’ exclusive rights.

June 24th, Medal Presentation Ceremony for 2009 Newly-recognized China Well-known Trademarks and Press Conference was held in Shandong province. Chongqing, Zhejiang, Xizang, Qinghai, Hubei, Shandong, etc. held awarding conferences for well-known and famous trademarks, promoting the successful experiences with help of the trademarks, which inspired the initiatives among the enterprises to implement their trademark strategy and improved the recognition of these trademarks among the business circle and whole society.
