Hull & Humber finishes Race 5

As Hull & Humber’s weary crew stepped onto the pontoon in Batam, Indonesia, in the early hours of Monday morning (local time) it was clear the race from Geraldton, Western Australia, had been a testing one.
The sixth of the 68-foot ocean racing yachts to cross the Race 5 finish line in the Singapore Straits, Hull & Humber has now joined Cape Breton Island, who took line honours, Spirit of Australia and Jamaica Lightning Bolt in Nongsa Point Marina, where the fleet will rally ahead of their arrival at Marina at Keppel Bay, Singapore, on Saturday.
The race may only have taken 15 days but it was physically and mentally demanding, according to skipper, Piers Dudin. Stepping onto the pontoon he said, "In terms of distance it was short but it had so many different chapters it turned out to be an epic adventure in itself. I may be a bit disappointed with our standing in the race but we really picked up a lot of new tricks especially for light wind kite flying and I learned a lot as well; in terms of the development of the team I’m really pleased with where we’re at".
