A post office at Yandaixiejie Street in Beijing celebrated its 121st birthday on Monday by issuing a set of panda-themed postcards. With its vintage design, the post office is attracting many visitors.

Art: Cotton wool drawings attract global attention

Zhang Baolan started learning cotton wool drawing from her mother and grandmother when she was 6. Now the 69-year-old's drawings are quite popular overseas, and she has been invited to hold exhibitions in several countries. Many of her works are collected by art institutions or individuals abroad. Even former US president Bill Clinton got one during a state visit to China in 1998. Her drawing was listed as an intangible cultural heritage of Xi'an, Shaanxi province, in 2011.

Exhibition: World's largest computer fair opens

CeBIT, the world's largest annual computer and software fair, is underway in Hannover, Germany. The show, with the theme "d!economy- no limits", is expected to attract 200,000 visitors. More than 3,000 companies from 70 countries are participating the show. Chinese technology companies such as Huawei Technologies Co and ZTE Corp are also exhibiting their innovative products and solutions at the event. The top trends at CeBIT this year include artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cyber security, drones, internet of things, virtual reality and 5G. The event will run through Friday.

Technology: Computers may soon be like brains

Kwabena Boahen, a professor of bioengineering at Stanford University, United States, has envisioned a new generation of computers to be brainlike, or neuromorphic, machines that are vastly more efficient than the conventional computers. As current computer chips are not up to the challenges posed by next-generation autonomous drones and medical implants, "we have reached the point where we need to do something different", says Boahen.
